CDM Smith
A US- based global engineering & construction company is looking for a suitable candidate to take the position of Project Controls Specialist (PCS) for USAID’s Nepal Reconstruction Engineering Services (NRES) project. Project Controls Specialist is responsible for the planning, execution, and oversight of project controls activities of the USAID-funded NCRP IDIQ Task Orders to ensure the projects are executed in accordance with the approved construction schedule. The PCS shall directly report to the Chief of Party of the Project.
Position: Project Controls Specialist
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review and recommend approval of subcontractor baseline schedules and payment terms.
- Capture the progress data from sites and prepare monthly portfolio reports to track progress on work packages/subcontracts.
- Prepare Key Performance Indicator (KPI) plan and report KPI performance.
- Prepare monthly progress reports.
- Perform change order management, project estimating, cost management, and schedule management in a timely fashion and in accordance with all company standards and contractual requirements.
- Develop proposal input to address required change (variation order) requests.
- Support the CDM Smith Project Management team in maintaining timely and effective change management processes.
- Support the CDM Smith Project Management team in preparation of yearly work plans.
- Act as program – wide champion for program information management system, ensuring program-wide compliance.
REQUIREMENTS
- Degrees: Bachelor’s Degree in civil/architectural engineering or construction.
- Minimum ten (10) years in planning, Scheduling, and cost engineering in a construction management environment.
- Manage the controls portion of the program management plan.
- Extensive working experience in planning and scheduling in building construction or similar projects.
- Strong computer skills and ability to utilize word-processing and database applications including MS Office and Primavera.
- Strong communication, prioritization, and organizational skills.
- Presentation skills and/or ability to prepare PowerPoint type presentation materials on construction progress.
- Ability to work with others in a positive and collaborative manner.
- Ability to train staff on controls processes and system tools.
- Ability to work as part of a high-performing and multi-disciplinary team, often operating under tight deadlines and timetables.
- Language (S): Fluent in English and Nepali with excellent written and oral communication skills is desirable.
- Nepali Citizen.
