Trainee (Programme Funding Associate) for DCA Nepal

DCA Nepal seeks application from female candidates who is keen to build foundation for challenging and rewarding career in an international development environment through hands-on knowledge and practical experience as Trainee in the capacity of Programme Funding Associate. This is an opportunity starting immediately based at Nepal Country Office, Kathmandu with field travel.
The Trainee will be guided by and report to Programme Funding Coordinator. She will work within the Programme Development and Funding Unit to review literature, data mining, collecting and analysing secondary information for proposal designing, review project documents and reports, proofreading, exploring potential funding opportunities and keeping track, update and maintain documents on intranet.
Key responsibilities include:
- Review project documents and reports and produce the capacity statements on various thematic sectors and sub-sectors. Such documents will work as the living document and hence, will have to be updated as and when necessary
- During the proposal development process, support Programme Funding Coordinator in reviewing the literature, data mining, and collecting and analysing secondary information relevant to the project
- Support to proofread documents (proposals and reports) as and when necessary;
- Support to explore potential funding opportunities and create funding summary to share with relevant technical staff
- Support in needs assessment, by collecting data/statistics and information as required by the proposal
- Support to track, update and maintain documents on intranet (PPD) and Teams folder
- Support to prepare supplementary documents for proposals and reports including but not limited to maps, letter of endorsement, past experience, etc
What you bring:
- Master’s degree in Social Sciences/ Disaster Risk Reduction/ Environmental Science/ Agriculture/ Natural Resources Management/ Development Studies/ Gender Studies/ Climate Change/ International Relations or any other relevant field
- At least some relevant work experience in Funding, Fundraising, Proposals, Disaster Risk Reduction, Livelihood, Research, or related field.
- Excellent research and report writing skill
- Fluency in oral and written skills in English and Nepali
- Good coordination, networking and interpersonal skills
- Good knowledge in MS Applications with excellent Excel-database management
- Creative and independent as well as team player with the ability to adhere to deadlines and flexibility
