Heifer Project international Nepal (HPIN) is a non-profit, humanitarian organization dedicated to ending hunger and poverty and caring for earth by providing livestock, education, and other resources to help poor families become self-reliant. HPIN invites application from eligible Nepali citizens for the following position:
Program Manager – Social Capital Development – 1
Major Roles and Responsibility:
The major function of the Program Manager- Social Capital Development is to design and implement the strategy and programs of Social Capital Development and training for farmers’ community-based organizations (CBOs) and project partners as well as Heifer International Nepal Staff. To ensure program staff, project partners, and community facilitators are effective, efficient, and consistent training in achieving 3 levels of impact.
Educational Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university in Social Science, Education, Agricultural Extension, Environmental Science, Veterinary Science, and Animal Husbandry required, plus at least 7 (Seven) years of related experience in training activities related to community development, agriculture, animal health, adult learning, and facilitation skills Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements

Preferred Requirements
- Master’s Degree from a recognized university in Social Science, Education, Agricultural Extension, Environmental Science, Veterinary Science, and Animal Husbandry required, plus at least 5 (Five) years of related experience in training activities related to community development, agriculture, animal health, adult learning
Most Critical Proficiencies:
- Demonstrated experience in values-based community mobilization, social capital development, institutional development, capacity building, training/facilitation, smallholder farmers/rural SMEs /co-ops, and base of the pyramid consumers.
- Strong interpersonal and people management skills
- Ability to work independently – and take initiative while also having strong team-building skills
- Fluent in Nepali and English (both spoken and written)
- Good leadership qualities and communication skills with all levels of personnel
- Excellent organizational skills including strong attention to detail Proficient knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, presentation tools, electronic mail (Micro office preferred), and internet
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work cooperatively, tactfully and diplomatically with a culturally diverse group of people
