What’s your role like?

The IT Assistant will be responsible for providing the first line of IT support to our internal staff. The primary focus of the employee will be on prompt resolution of IT issues via desk, virtual, phone, or email support with our users. They need to make sure our IT system and devices run smoothly to support the company’s operation.

Some major deliverables;

  • Provide consistent, first-line support for our staff seeking assistance with IT issues and act responsibly to solve the issues
  • Be available for support and respond promptly to users’ inquiries, complaints, and requests to avoid impact on business operations
  • Regularly check the company’s IT infrastructure to find potential issues proactively.
  • Keep a track of discovered and reported issues. Make comments and document tickets for all user interactions.
  • Provide regular updates to supervisors and the reporting manager.
  • Monitor the company’s network and liaise with service providers to maintain ~100% uptime of network and connectivity.
  • Take charge of IT tasks during staff onboarding and offboarding, including device checks, software installations, account setups, removing accounts, collecting devices, cleaning state, etc.

Requirements

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field.
  • At least 1 year of professional experience in the IT department

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Proactiveness, good and prompt communication
  • High attention to detail
  • Problem-solving nature with research skills
  • IT enthusiast with a good understanding of Networking, Hardware, and Security.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft windows and office packages, VOIP, or other cloud platforms
  • Experience in working with frequently used enterprise software and tools like OS, VPN, Antivirus, Skype, Softphone, etc.
  • Experience in working with financial CRM software and troubleshooting issues on your own or through the helpdesk.
  • Understanding of G-Suite services and administration.
  • Good knowledge of desktop and laptop hardware components and some practical experience
  • Any experience with Active Directory eg g-suite services/administration, ITSM Systems, Cybersecurity, and Project Management will be an added advantage.
