Local Initiatives for Biodiversity, Research, and Development (LI-BIRD) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization established in October 1995 with its Head Office in Pokhara and Programme Coordination Office in Lalitpur. LI-BIRD is committed to capitalizing on local initiatives for sustainable management of renewable natural resources and improving the livelihoods of rural people in Nepal.

LI-BIRD and Welthungerhilfe (WHH), Nepal are in the process of jointly implementing the project entitled ‘Strengthening the Agricultural Value Chains in Salyan and Sindhupalchok districts of Nepal (AVC)’ funded by Happel Foundation, Switzerland. The main goal of the project is to enhance the livelihoods of smallholder farmers through strengthened agricultural value chains. The project will work on strengthening the capacity of cooperatives and market promotion committees to ensure supply of quality input to the producer farmers and marketing of agricultural produce.
LI-BIRD invites applications from eligible and qualified Nepali citizens who are committed and have the ability to deliver results with the highest integrity for the position.

Position: Technical Assistant (Level 4/5) -1 (based at Project Site Office in Salyan)

Job Summary: Technical Assistant will be primarily responsible for the implementation of day to day field level activities. S/he needs to work closely with farmers, farmer groups and cooperatives and the local government to plan, implement and coordinate the project activities.

Education and Experience: Intermediate or JT/JTA in Agriculture, with 3 years of work experience (preferably 5 years) in areas of agriculture value chain and cooperative management with a willingness to work in rural settings are encouraged to apply.
