Duty Station: Current requirement is in Kathmandu but can be placed anywhere in Nepal as per business needs and future requirements.
Purpose:
-
- To provide legal support to internal stakeholders.
- To ensure compliance with the company’s business activities as per prevailing laws.
- To draft/review the agreement and other legal documents for the business support unit.
- To represent at Court and other government authorities on behalf of the company.
- To maintain legal records accurately and concurrently.
Main responsibility areas:
- Draft, review and ensure that contracts and agreements are in compliance with all the statutory and legal requirements.
- Review and provide legal advice on the contract and ensure their legal compliance.
- Support the legal team to highlight all relevant legal provisions of Nepal in all contractual areas of Ncell.
- Prepare case briefs, summaries, and/or case details.
- File & register cases, prepare all the documents related to the case and present them before the court of law.
- Provide legal assistance to understand and fully adhere to the company’s values and code of conduct.
- Liaise with relevant departments to ensure that where legal risks have been identified, appropriate courses of action be taken.
- Develop and review various contractual templates as per the need of the company.
- Provide consultation, counseling, and references on legal issues of the company.
- Involve in regulating commercial relations with organizations as well as draft orders, instructions, and letters for the company’s internal activity.
- Organize and monitor activities of translators’ groups, including outsourced translation services provided by translation agencies.
- Draft and review legal documents on behalf of the company as well as letters related to government and contracted parties, also verify the correspondence with them.
- Work out and prepare contracts (drafting new contacts, amending existing contracts, bringing contract provisions in line with legislative requirements, maintaining correspondence related to contract terms and conditions). Also participate in the resolution of disputes related to contract execution and counterparties’ performance thereunder.
Your qualification and experience:
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Law with 2 years of experience in the corporate & commercial legal field with special focus on drafting and negotiation of contracts and legal documents.
- Advocate license would be a plus.

- Should have good knowledge of judiciary acts and bodies.

- Seeks to learn more about other parts of the unit, or function.

- Ability to deal with multiple stakeholders
- Computer-savvy and well-versed in Microsoft Office package.
- Should be proficient in Nepali and English typing.
