Rural Development Centre (RDC) Nepal is a non-political and non-profitable organization established in June 2002 with its head office in Rautahat District of Nepal. Since then, RDC is heavily engaged in humanitarian assistance, community development, conservation of natural resources, and environmental protection mainly in the Terai region of Nepal through the dozens of humanitarian and long-term development projects reaching out to the children, adolescent, youth, women, landless, urban poor, and people living with disabilities, HIV & AIDS, conflict and disaster survivors from the poor families of historically marginalized Dalits, Muslims, Madheshi and Indigenous communities and other underprivileged groups.

  • Sound knowledge on market and market system and business development

  • Knowledge and skills on Business planning
  • Knowledge and experience on local value chain development process
  • Skills on participatory Value Chain Analysis with Producers
  • Situation Analysis of Local Producers and Market Opportunities
  • Government policy, programme priorities, needs and issues in relation the sector priorities
  • Well informed and disseminate message on WVIN Nutrition & Resilience Livelihood Sector Technical Program and Priorities, Project Model Agriculture (CSA, Agri Dev.), NRM and DRR (FMNR, CBDRM), Market Development (LVCD), Alternative livelihood (TVET, SYIB, BF)), Financial Inclusion (S4T, Coops), EWV,
  • Good Knowledge on economic development approaches, theory of change
  • Knowledge on business environment, market dynamics and ability to analyze context to inform the project
  • Knowledge on UPG project models 4 pillars (Social Protection, Livelihood Promotion, Financial Inclusion, Social Empowerment)

2Health and CESP Field Mobiliser (1-Nos.)Intermediate level in health or in any relevant discipline with at least 2 years of experience.
  • Understanding of poverty issues, development theories and sustainable development practices and knowledge on child rights
  • Strong understanding of community dynamics with skills to communicate and build rapport with children and community
  • Good translation skills both English to Nepali and vice versa [Preferred]
  • Strong coordination skills with local level stakeholders (Parents, school management committee, child clubs, health institutions, M/Rural municipality, wards, cooperatives and various community groups)
  • Latest technology friendly (Use of Smart phones, digital cameras, tablets)
  • Computer and Technology literacy; Good computer skills including Word and Excel [preferred]
  • Knowledge around CP and CFLG mechanism at the local level
  • Basic knowledge on maternal child health and nutrition
  • General understanding of government policies, priorities, needs and issues related to health and nutrition
  • Basic understanding of development approach
  • Good Facilitation skills
  • Good Communication skills
