Job Location: Parasi-Nepal(Factory based)
Roles and responsibilities
The position is responsible for executing the project procurement plan for assigned project(s). Incumbent will work coordinate procurement activities directly between the project team and the appropriate category manager for lead items. Member will also work directly with suppliers of non-lead equipment to competitively support the project. Must also use budgetary measures and support project procurement management to drive improvements toward competitiveness and performance.
Job Description
- Plan, manage and coordinates all activities related to the sourcing and procurement needed to meet the changing levels of demand for each project
- Must have handled project related work
- Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instruction, policies and procedures
- Good knowledge in procurement of engineering equipment and machineries related to SMS
- Experience in handling both domestic and international vendors in a just in time production environments
- Search for new potential suppliers and develop a comprehensive data base. Analyze all suppliers in order to select the most suitable suppliers who can deliver high quality products at competitive pricing
- Implement, monitor vendor evaluation process in consultation with other departments
- Preparing techno-commercial comparative statement to evaluate best vendor options
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English. Local language will be added advantage.
- Ability to work independently with minimum guidance
- Strong management and leadership, as wellas influential skills
- Participate in existing and new / existing material planning processes to provide costing estimates, alternative options and assure timely acquisition of materials to support just in time production of each unique project
- Carryout discussions / negotiations with vendors to get best quality/ service at reduced prices
- Responsible for timely and proper documentation of entire procurement process with negotiation, quote comparison, Purchase Orders / Agreements, tax related compliance
- Collaborate with production / quality teams to manage in a timely quality related issues / material replacement
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements and ethical standards related to procurement including GST/VAT and other applicable taxes if any.
- Keep detailed records, generate reports and develop presentations as required by HOD
- Support the sustainability initiative and develop sustainable sourcing options
- Create monthly performance reviews and reports on overall sourcing requirements
Other Key skills
- Must have computer proficiency -Microsoft Office, Outlook, email communication
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Imports documentation experience will be added advantage
- Data analysis
- ERP knowledge –SAP Business one version, Tally experience will be an added advantage
- Ability to read technical drawings (AutoCAD drawings) and make minor changes if required
Experience:
- Overall, 8-10 year’s experience in manufacturing industry with relevant experience in Vendor
- Management, Procurement/ Strategic Sourcing, Planning
- Industry: Iron and Steel Manufacturing -Preferred SMS unit
