The Millennium Challenge Account Nepal Development Board (MCA-Nepal) is a Government of Nepal (GON) agency, formed under tthe Development Board Act 2013 BS (1956 AD) in order to manage a USD 630 million infrastructure program. The program is co-funded by the US Government’s Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Compact grant of USD 500 million and the GON’s contribution of USD 130 million. The program aims to increase the availability and reliability of electricity, maintain road quality and facilitate power trade between Nepal and the region to help spur investments and accelerate economic growth. The Electricity Transmission Project, a national pride project, and the Road Maintenance Project are two projects under the program.

MCA-Nepal is currently in preparatory phase of the program before start of implementation of projects. In this context, MCA-Nepal invites application for the following position:

Background & Project Description

In September 2017, the U.S. Government’s Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) signed a $500 million compact agreement with the Government of Nepal. The Compact aims to increase the availability and reliability of electricity, maintain road quality, and facilitate power trade between Nepal and India— helping to spur investments, and accelerate economic growth. The compact agreement is valid for a period of five years, and is currently in implementation stage, prior to Entry-Into-Force (EIF) at which time the five-year time period begins.

Pursuant to the aforementioned agreement, the entity charged with implementing the project has been established as the Millennium Challenge Account Nepal (MCA-Nepal) entity. This position will assume

a critical role in the success of MCA-Nepal.

Position Objective

The Office Driver, in direct supervision of Manager-Admin and HR, is responsible for driving office vehicles for official purposes whilst maintaining cleanliness and functionality of vehicles in order to

fulfill MCA-Nepal’s travel needs to meet its objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

Drives MCA-Nepal office staff and guests ensuring safety and security of passengers in support of daily operational requirements of the office and its programs;
Maintains the cleanliness and functionality of vehicles, reporting any damage or needs for repair and maintenance and ensures that the vehicles are ready for use;
Ensures Log of vehicle use, gasoline consumption, and mileage to ensure that vehicles – considered organizational resources – are responsibly used and to support monitoring and audit activities;
Remains aware of work schedules and work plans along with general traffic conditions to ensure effective and efficient driving support is provided to office staff;
Provides other operational support as and when needed by the organization.
