Organization: The Nepal Urban Resilience Project (SUDRIDH-NURP)
The Nepal Urban Resilience Project (SUDRIDH-NURP) is a DFID-Funded programme providing support to the Government of Nepal and selected Municipal Governments to build urban economic resilience. SUDRIDH-NURP seeks suitably qualified and experienced individuals to support project implementation in a variety of roles. staff required for full-time positions.
Position: Municipal Engineer/Urban Planner
No of Positions: 3
Job Location: Metropolitan and sub-metropolitan cities outside Kathmandu
Level: Mid-level
Offered Salary: Negotiable
Minimum requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in any field of Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Urban Economics or related fields, with preference for candidates with a Master’s degree.
• Working experience of at least 5 years of which 2 years with sub-national government agencies in activities related to urban development
• Familiarity with commonly-used computer applications
Major responsibilities:
• Support municipalities to carry out surveys, identify development needs, prepare pre-feasibility and feasibility studies and support economic development activities
• Contribute to strengthening municipal planning and project development systems
• Carry out capacity development activities related to areas of technical expertise
Position: Research Associate and Social Development Specialist
No of Positions: 3
Job Location: Metropolitan and sub-metropolitan cities outside Kathmandu
Level: Mid-level
Offered Salary: Negotiable
Minimum requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in any field of social sciences (economics, geography, sociology, statistics, development studies), management, or related field, with preference for candidates with a Master’s degree.
• Working experience of at least 5 years of which 2 years with sub-national governments in the fields of planning or data management, social, economic or institutional development
• Good understanding of research and data management and related computer applications and skills.
Major responsibilities:
• Support municipality in data collection and management, stakeholder and public consultations, communications and publication of project case studies and results
• Work with municipalities in the design and implementationof social development programs and in maintaining the project monitoring, evaluation and learning system
• Manage administrative and financial functions of the Project at the municipal level.
