The Working for Access and creation Nepal (WAC-Nepal) is an independent registered non-government and nonprofit civil society organization. It has been established on 06/08/2054 BS. by the General Meeting at Sanfebagar Town, attended many surrounding villages elite persons from Hilly areas at Achham of Nepal. This NGO was formed according to the willingness of the community people in a view to deal with the present socio-economic problems in different villages by means of good understanding and sharing the problems each other and to find out the best way of solving the problems through free discussion and people participation in the decision making and get-together under the organization.
Project Information:
Building Hope Along the Karnali River Basin (BHAKARI) project is being implemented by Working for Access and Creation Nepal (WAC-Nepal) Achham in partnering with of Mercy Corps Nepal with the financial support from USAID’s Bureau for Humanitarian Affairs (BHA) with a goal to enhance food and nutrition security, reduce future humanitarian caseload, and improve the resilience of communities to recurrent shocks in Achham district in the Karnali River Basin area. BHAKARI is a unique model as a Multi-Year Emergency program, focusing on both increasing long-term food security while also responding to short-term emergency shocks, via an integrated, multi- sectoral approach with a strong emphasis on gender and social inclusion. It includes program components of agriculture and market systems, disaster risk reduction, water for productive use, natural resources management, and a large emphasis on a gender and social inclusion approach, all with a highly integrated multi-sectoral approach. 3-year long project has been implementing from October-2020 in 3 municipalities of Achham district. WAC Nepal invites applications from the eligible Nepalese citizens for the following positions for the implementation BHAKARI Program.
DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION / REQUIREMENTS:
Position: DRR Officer : 1 Person (Based in Field Office Kamalbazar Achham )
Job purpose: The DRR Officer will work as part of a technical support unit for WAC-Nepal, BHAKARI program and is responsible to conduct and carried out outputs of all the Disaster Risk Reduction/Climate Change Adaptation and Natural Resource Management related program activities with all terms and conditions mentioned in partnership agreement for program “Building Hope Along Karnali River Basin (BHAKARI) Program” implementation between WAC Nepal and Mercy Corps Nepal. DRR Officer will work under the Program Coordinator (PC) of BHAKARI program of WAC Nepal for day-to-day management, planning, implementation with the coordination and oversight with the District Coordinator (DC) and Regional DRR/NRM Officer of Bhakari program for technical support, advice and backstopping.
Minimum Qualification and Experience required: Bachelor degree in Disaster Risk Reduction/Environment Science/Social Science or relevant discipline at least 3 years of experience of project implementation in Disaster Risk Reduction, Natural Resource Management and Humanitarian Response
Skills: Excellent computer skills including email, internet and MS Word, Excel, and Power point, excellent standard of written and spoken English and Nepali and should be driving license (Motorbike).
Position: Technical Supervisor-Agriculture and Nutrition: 1 Person (Based in Field Office Kamalbazar Achham)
Job purpose: The Technical Supervisor Agriculture and Nutrition will work as part of a technical support unit for WAC BHAKARI program and is responsible to conduct and carried out outputs of all the inputs, production, and marketing program activities with all terms and conditions mentioned in partnership agreement for program “Building Hope Along Karnali River Basin (BHAKARI) Program” implementation by WAC Achham. Technical Supervisor Agriculture and Nutrition will work under the Program Coordinator (PC) of BHAKARI Program. Responsible for pocket level agriculture and market development activities to implement at pocket level of the BHAKARI Program. Develop strong linkages and coordination with Municipalities and service center and line agencies of assigned Municipality/Rural Municipalities for the synergetic way. Support/promote pilot demonstration of agricultural related innovation, technologies and practice including MIT, IPM technology, farm mechanization and etc.
Minimum Qualification and Experience required: Junior Technician (JT) or ISC Ag. Passed or relevant discipline with 3 years of experience in related projects.

Position: Sub overseer-CFW/DRR:- 1 Person (Based in Field Office Kamalbazar Achham)
Job purpose: This position requires frequent field visit to different intervention Areas of BHAKARI Program in Achham. Sub Overseer – CFW/DRR will work as part of a technical support unit for WAC BHAKARI program and is responsible to conduct and carried out outputs of CFW/DRR and water program activities with all terms and conditions mentioned in partnership agreement for program “Building Hope Along Karnali River Basin (BHAKARI)” Program implementation by WAC Achham. Sub Overseer -CFW/DRR will work under the Project Coordinator (PC) of BHAKARI program. Sub Overseer – CFW/DRR will responsible for planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of CFW/DRR and water components of BHAKARI project at pocket level. He/she will be responsible for conducting feasibility and all necessary surveys and installation of CFW/DRR and water schemes, ensure quality of the infrastructures/ technologies, provide technical trainings to the users on the construction process of CFW/DRR and water construction installation and other technologies promoted by BHAKARI Program.
Minimum Qualification and Experience required: Intermediate degree in Civil Engineering (Diploma in Civil Engineering) with minimum 1 years of experience in monitoring and supervision of DRR mitigation and irrigation technologies and water technologies.
