Summary: The U.S. Mission in Kathmandu, Nepal is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Administrative Clerk. The working title of the position is Receptionist (Medical Unit). This vacancy is open to all interested applicants.

The work schedule for this position is Full Time (40 hours per week).

Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

DUTIES

The incumbent provides general administrative and clerical support for the U.S. Mission Medical Unit. The incumbent will be responsible for answering incoming calls, directing calls to appropriate staff in the medical unit, mail distribution, correspondence, requisition of supplies as well as other clerical duties. The incumbent is the first point of contact for patients and visitors to the Medical Unit and must maintain absolute patient confidentiality at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EVALUATIONS

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: At least one year of secretarial or receptionist experience is required.

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Good knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures is required. Knowledge of customer service principles and practices is required.

Education Requirements: Completion of Higher Secondary education is required.

Evaluations:

These may be tested ( Language, Skills, and Abilities).

LANGUAGE: Good Working Knowledge of Reading/Writing/Speaking English is required. Fluent Reading/Writing/Speaking Nepali is required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: The ability to use various computer applications such as MS Word, Excel and Outlook is required.
