Job Description
World Vision International Nepal (WVIN), an international Christian relief, development and advocacy organisation dedicated to working with children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice, is looking for potential Nepalese candidates to fill out the following positions:
1. Position: Deputy Chief of Party / Programme Director (One)
Key Responsibilities: Direct and oversee World Vision’s work in an assigned program, ensuring that all program goals are met on time and within budget; Identify issues and risks related to program implementation in a timely manner, and suggest appropriate program adjustments to the Chief of Party; Ensure grant/project expenses are well managed; Ensure strong staff management practices, consistent with WV policies, donor requirements and local laws; Establish and maintain effective reporting, evaluation, and internal communication; Networking and Liaison with different stakeholders as appropriate to have strong representation of grant;
Minimum Qualifications and Experience required: A Master’s degree in development sector, preferably public health, or a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in public health with 8 years of experience in managing health (maternal, new born, child health and/or family planning) activities, in Asian context and preferably in Nepal; Proven technical knowledge in maternal, new born, child health and family planning and in relationship to the cross-cutting objectives of the activity; Sufficient managerial and administrative experience to be able to deputize for the CoP in his/her absence; Experience in monitoring and evaluation work for in large, complex, and multifaceted health development activities; Demonstrated ability to articulate technical information clearly and effectively and in flexible and adaptive programming.
2. Position: Finance Manager- Grants (One)
Key Responsibilities: Advise programme teams on resource integration options to meet match requirements of grants and on recovery of indirect and field ministry service costs for grants and private funding; Lead the development of the annual program team operating budget, monitor actual performance and develop project projections; Well managed grant budget; Prepare close-out documentation at end of funding cycles in compliance with government regulations, WVIN and the Donor; Liaise with appropriate partner offices regarding financial and accounting issues;
Minimum Qualifications and Experience required: A post-graduate degree (Masters preferred) in Business, Accounting, Finance (CPA/ ACCA or other professional accreditation) or related field with at least 6 years of experience in financial and administrative management of large international development projects; Must be able to work with multiple deadlines and high demands; Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with absolute discretion; Work in an international/domestic relief and development organization is preferred; Experience in managing inter-agency consortiums is preferred.
3. Position: MEALS Manager (One)
Key Responsibilities: Develop the overall framework for project M&E in accordance to the project and document M&E plan; Oversee and execute M&E activities included in the Annual Work Plan, with particular focus on results and impacts as well as in lesson learning; Design and implement a system to identify, analyze, document and disseminate lessons learned.
Qualifications and Experience required: A Master’s degree in Epidemiology, Statistics, Research Methods or related field or a Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience in health activities on monitoring, evaluation and research methods with increasing levels of responsibility in Asia and preferably in Nepal; Demonstrated ability to articulate technical information clearly and effectively and in flexible and adaptive programming; Research skills— surveys, focus groups, knowledge, practice and coverage studies—data analysis, and how to make effective presentations. Knowledge of EPHNFO, LQAS, 30-cluster sampling survey methodology, SPSS, and other statistical tools preferred.
Core competencies for all the positions: Must have previous experience of managing USAID grants successfully;At least 5 years of experience designing, implementing and managing large and complex projects involving multiple partners, in/for developing countries; Excellent oral and written English & Nepali; Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications including use of Microsoft Office; Ready to take initiatives and willing to work under pressure and exhibit a high level of flexibility; Hold a high level of integrity and honesty, self-motivated, confident, and able to work independently; Strategic, creative, and innovative thinking with decision making and problem solving skills; Good understanding of humanitarian Sector; Committed to World Vision Core Values and Mission Statement.
