Forum for Rural Development (FORD) Nepal is Non-Government Organization (NGO) established in 2056 B.S. Since the beginning, the organization has implemented different projects primarily focused on community development and social transformation to bring positive and sustained changes in the lives of poor and vulnerable citizens. FORD Nepal has focused on fostering rural livelihood improvement through organizing people and developing inclusive leadership. Recently, the organization is implementing Okhaldhunga Recovery and Resilience Program (ORRP) in partnership with the Catholic Relief Service (CRS Nepal) at Likhu and Champadevi rural municipality of (former Singhadevi, Raniban and Phulbari VDCs of Okhaldhunga) to reconstruct community infrastructure and restore the livelihoods. Under ORR program, FORD Nepal is implementing Livelihood, Shelter and Restoration program. For successful implementation of the ORRP in rural areas, FORD Nepal is looking for qualified and experienced following positions.

Job Title: Program Manager

No of position:              1 (One)

Job Location:                Manthali, Ramechhap with frequently visit in project site and Okhaldhunga

Length of Contract:      Initial 1 year with possibility of high extension

Reporting to:                Executive Director

 

Required knowledge, Experience and qualification

  • Minimum MA in Rural Development or sociology or Social work with 7 years working experiences in development sectors(among the duration at least 5 years managerial position’s experiences in rural areas)
  • Good leadership and team management skill
  • Strong technical experience in the following areas: community development, livelihoods, shelter, social mobilization, disaster management, shelter construction and social inclusion
  • Well knowledge on project and operations managment
  • Good understanding of project cycle managment including financial management and monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning.
  • Well knowledge on logical frame work (Log frame) and Details Implementation Plan (DIP)
  • In-depth knowledge of local and national level I/NGOs and donor rule, regulations and requirement
  • Ability to coordinate and collaborate with other donor/partner programs and with implementing partners for creative solutions to maximize results.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively in team situations.
  • Good in English and excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills like MS Office, outlook etc.
  • Plan and implement systems that perform the work and fulfill the mission and the goals of the department efficiently and effectively
  • Plan and allocate resources to effectively staff and accomplish the work to meet departmental productivity and quality goals
  • Plan, evaluate, and improve the efficiency of business processes and procedures to enhance speed, quality, efficiency, and output

 

Management, Monitoring, evaluation and reporting:

  • Planning, implementation, budgeting and financial controls the different activities of the project.
  • Organize the monthly review and planning meeting of the project
  • Carry out follow-up and monitoring work for the outcome and evaluation of the projects.
  • Prepare and desseminate the success stories and lessons learned during the performance project activities.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual report for the donor agency to include detailed information on project development and budget.
  • Management level experience monitoring and coordinating staffs at district and local level and transferring skills and knowledge.
  • Arrange the orientation and training to projects staffs as per need.
  • On the basis of project’s objective, develop the training manual and deliver training in    effective way to community people.
  • Prepare event wise training report and submit report to the line manager.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, semiannual and annual report

 

Networking and Coordination:

  • Work closely with local and national likeminded government and non-government organizations such as local government’s structure, rural municipalities, local leaders, Group, clubs, SHGs/SRGs, Schools, Health post and other line agencies.
  • As a focal perso, manage teh coordination, networking and overall managment  on close coordination with funding partners and other key stakeholders,
  • Represent FORD-Nepal in various network and forums.
