The Ticketing Officer is responsible for handling ticket booking, issuance, cancellations, and customer queries across travel platforms. Ticketing Officer ensures timely and accurate processing of domestic and international flight tickets, maintains records, and provides excellent service to clients for a smooth travel experience.
Qualification and Experience
Bachelorβs degree in Tourism, business administration or a related field.
3 to 4 years of experience in the relevant field.
Job Description
Process international/domestic flight bookings, reissues, cancellations, and refunds via GDS (Amadeus, Sabre, Galileo).
Handle fare calculations, ticket rules, and travel advisories for clients.
Manage flight schedule changes, amendments, and re-routing per airline policies.
Ensure 100% compliance with airline regulations (IATA/company standards).
Assist clients in selecting flights based on budget, schedule, and preferences (e.g., layovers, airlines).
Coordinate with airlines/partners for seat assignments, meal preferences, baggage policies, and special requests (e.g., wheelchair assistance).
Resolve ticketing issues, complaints, and disruptions promptly (e.g., missed connections, denied boarding).
Maintain accurate records of bookings, payments, refunds, and customer interactions in CRM.
Verify passenger details (PNR, passport/visa info) to prevent errors.
Stay updated on airline promotions, fare rules, and industry trends.
Generate daily reports on ticket sales, cancellations, and customer feedback.
Liaise with airlines, hotels, and ground handlers to confirm bookings and special arrangements.
Handle void, re-issuing, cancellations, refunds, and exchanges as per company and airline policies.
Assist customers with inquiries, complaints, or special requests, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
Receive incoming calls from customers and address their queries, concerns, and requests promptly.
Collaborate with Airlines, GSD (Global Distribution System) and CSD (Customer Service Department)
Required Skills
Proficiency in GDS systems (e.g., Amadeus, Sabre, Galileo)
Knowledge of domestic and international ticketing procedures
Familiarity with fare rules, reissuance, refunds, and cancellations
Experience with airline portals and travel booking software
Knowledge of MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
