Duties
The Procurement and Contracting Assistant receives, reviews, analyzes and processes procurement and contracting actions for purchasing technical, non-technical commodities, and a wide variety of services needed from qualifying agencies for running the U.S. Mission’s programs and projects, as well as the operation and maintenance of the U.S. Mission offices, vehicles, and residences. The incumbent conducts market research and maintains professional relationships with vendors. The incumbent closely works with customers throughout the procurement process and keeps them updated of the status and ensures customer satisfaction. The incumbent works with receiving, customs and shipping, financial, and the Dispatch Agency personnel to ensure the efficient purchasing, shipment, and receipt of ordered items. The incumbent also works with suppliers when non-receipt, damage, or incorrectly shipped items are received to get correct products or refunds.
Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: At least three years of procurement experience or administrative experience in a position involving purchasing, supply or procurement of goods and services is required.
JOB KNOWLEDGE: Good knowledge of the procurement process is required. Good knowledge of the local market, its practices and suppliers, as well as local pricing practices is required.
Education Requirements:
A College-level degree is required.

LANGUAGE: Level IV (Fluent) speaking/reading/writing English is required. Level IV (Fluent) speaking/reading/writing Nepali is required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: The ability to use various Windows-based computer applications such as MS Word, MS Outlook, Power Point and Excel is required. The ability to learn and use various automated procurement software.
