Summary: The U.S. Mission in Kathmandu is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Surveillance Detection Guard . This vacancy is open to All Interested Applicants.

The work schedule for this position is: Full Time (48 hours per week)

Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Duties

The incumbent provides security for U.S. personnel and facilities by conducting SD operations as a member of a tactical team of SD personnel. The incumbent observe, recognize, and report potential surveillance and other suspicious incidents directed against U.S. Government facilities and/or personnel and initiate emergency responses to possible hostile actions, as necessary, to safeguard life and property.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements: EXPERIENCE: A minimum of one year of military, police, or private experience in the field of security is required.

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Good knowledge of surveillance techniques, familiarity with local pedestrian and vehicular traffic patterns and habits, awareness of cultural norms and customs is required. Good working knowledge of the host city’s geography and general culture.

Education Requirements: Completion of Secondary School education is required.
Evaluations: These may be tested (Language, Skills and Abilities).

LANGUAGE: Limited Knowledge speaking/reading/writing English is required. Good Working Knowledge speaking/reading/writing Nepali is required

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: The ability to use basic information technology systems. The ability to provide detailed oral reports. The ability to have good observation skills. A valid local class “A” driving license is required.
