NGO Job in Lalitpur – Communication Officer

Functional Position Communication Manager
Education Level Master’s degree from a recognized university in any field. However, priority will be given to person with mass media and journalism background.
Experience Required Minimum 5 years of experience in the development sector mainly with reputed NGOs/INGOs in the similar positions.
Job Location Central Officer- Lalitpur

JOB SUMMARY: The designated person will be based in central office under Communication and Documentation Unit and coordinates with program units as per the details tasks specified below.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Specific tasks related to Communication

  • Responsible for social media management across all KOSHISH social media channels and generating monthly analytical reports on social media and website performance.
  • Develop an annual calendar of communication outreach / campaigns targeting prominent national and international days.
  • Publish monthly and quarterly newsletters and annual reports along with other organizational documents as required.
  • Collect footage for videos and photos of important outreach activities.
  • Produce short video-stories of the selected beneficiaries.
  • Develop content and materials for fundraising for the organization.
  • Coordinate with program team to prepare standard PPT and reports.
  • Ensure consistency of branding of KOSHISH.
  • Provide periodic orientation to staff on writing for news, success stories, social media post etc.
  • Review and update communication strategy of KOSHISH and implement them effectively.
  • Develop plan for awareness campaigns in collaboration with other units, with specific reference to prominent national and international days related to health, mental health, disability, and human rights.
  • Develop PSAs, IEC, BCC and relevant materials and produce audio/visual contents for mass awareness and sensitization in close coordination with the concerned team members.
  • Maintain and update official website and social media pages on a regular basis.
  • Lead media mobilization, including (radio/TV programs) for awareness and sensitization on mental health and psychosocial disability.
  • Systematic maintenance of photo and video bank of all communication materials of KOSHISH.
  • Provide periodic orientation to staff on good photography and ethical considerations.
  • Support In carrying out meetings and workshops as per the program/project need.
  • Cover the photo and video of events carried out by KOSHISH as per requirement.
  • Coordinate with the team for contents of Annual Report, design and publish it.
  • Prepare and publish the news of events carried out by KOSHISH.
  • Carry out any other tasks that are required of the position as per organizational need.

Specific tasks related to Documentation

  • Review organizational documents and prepare plans to enhance systematic documentation.
  • Lead the development of contents for monthly, bi-monthly, and quarterly newsletters, organizational annual report, website, and social media posts in collaboration with other units and project teams in KOSHISH.
  • Review and develop standard templates for the organization for PowerPoint presentation, case stories development and reports in collaboration with program and MEAL units.
  • Prepare and publish the news of events carried out by KOSHISH.
  • Support to develop institutional memory of the organization.
  • Update organizational profile on a periodic basis.
  • Compile impactful stories of beneficiaries in coordination with program team.
  • Coordinate with MEAL unit in developing and maintaining central database system for the organization.
  • Develop synopsis of the projects being implemented in the organization.
  • Carry out any other tasks that are required of the position as per organizational need.

Required Skills:

  • Proven experience of documentation and communication
  • Excellent write-up skill of English and Nepali languages
  • Well versed with the latest technologies on the computer, mobile and other digital platforms
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Excellent teamwork.
  • Dynamic, flexible and motivated to work for the cause.
  • Willing to travel to project locations.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to compile and synthesize data and prepare reports.
  • Sensitive to mental health and crosscutting issues of disabilities

Salary: Negotiable as per competence and experience
