FAITH is a non-profit organization dedicated to advocate for the health and human rights of female sex workers, Women living with HIV and Female who use drugs. We are currently seeking a qualified and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Project Officer who is proficient in advocacy for supporting and advancing efforts to prevent and respond to gender based violence (GBV), promoting gender equality, and creating a safe and inclusive environment targeting Nepali female sex workers (FSWs).
Time period: 12 months
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with local government officials, advocating for comprehensive GESI and other policies on GBV violence prevention and mitigation inclusive of rights of FSWs.
- Organize workshops and consultations with policymakers to raise awareness about the unique challenges faced by female sex workers.
- Work closely with law enforcement agencies, particularly the police, to build awarenessand understanding of the human rights of FSWs.
- Establish mechanisms for regular communication and collaboration between the program and law enforcement.
- Collaborate with relevant NGOs, community-based organizations, and other stakeholders working on similar issues.Facilitate partnerships to enhance the program’s impact and reach.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of program activities, including progress reports, challenges, and lessons learned.
- Submit regular reports to relevant stakeholders, funding agencies, and program management.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in public health, social work, gender studies, international development, or a related field.
- Minimum of five years of experience in project management, with a specific focus on GBV prevention and response.
- Strong knowledge of GBV issues, international standards, and best practices in GBV programming.
- Proven strong experience on coordination with policymakers and holds the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team and independently, with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation frameworks and tools for GBV projects.
- Strong communication and advocacy skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken English language.
- Those with working experience in sex worker rights and other marginalized populations like People living with HIV, People who use drugs, have knowledge of context and understanding of sensitivities related to violence against female sex workers will be given priority.
