SAJAG: Active Citizens for Accountable Local Governments Project/Helvetas Nepal is supported by the European Union under the European Instrument for Democracy and Human Right (EIDHR) to support local governments as well as civil society organizations in eight selected local governments in Dailekh, Jajarkot, Kalikot and Mugu districts of the Karnali Province in working on human rights and democratisation so as to enhance political representation, participation and accountability at local level. Job Description
Duty station : Programme Management Unit (PMU)/Dailekh with frequent visits to project sites
Duration : Till December 2020
Job Purpose
- Creating an enabling environment for greater engagement of citizens in local governance to enhance good governance and the rule of law
- Leading and ensuring efficient and effective planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of project activities, and managing the project fund and human resources
- Contributing to building the capacities of local governments, elected women representatives and civil society organizations on human rights and democratization
Required Education, Experience and Social Competence:
- Master’s degree in social science, rural development, public administration, public policy, or another relevant field
- At least 5 years of working experience in governance and accountability related project/programme. Commitment towards gender equality, social inclusion and poverty reduction
Remuneration and Benefits:

- Candidates from Karnali Province is preferred
