The Rural Institution for Community Development (RICOD) is a non-profit making non-governmental social organisation working with children, youth and women in the area of basic health, education, peace and development in Nepal since 1995.  RICOD was registered at District Administration Office Lalitpur and affiliated with the Social Welfare Council Nepal. It was established with the fundamental aim to contribute for creation of empowered focus groups to fulfil their rights by organizing and empowering them through participatory processes.RICOD has had partnerships with: Terre des Hommes, Mennonite Central Committee, World Vision International, European Commission, European Union, MAMTA health institute for mother and child India, SOLID Nepal, Chemonics Int./USAID, District Development Committee Lalitpur, Merlin Nepal, Canadian Foodgrans Bank, Beyond Beijing Committee, Volunteer Service Overseas and Restless Development.The organization has been focusing to raise awareness and enhance focus group's access to basic health services and nutrition, support early childhood development and basic education, empower youth to engage in social transformation that enables them to work for dignified, peaceful families and communities, support focus groups to improve livelihoods through environmentally friendly agriculture and non-agriculture interventions, assist focus groups for disaster risk management, and strengthen the organization’s management and staff to be effective, efficient and relevant to the context.
