Job Purpose

The Restaurant Shift In-Charge is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant during an assigned shift. The position ensures smooth service, excellent customer experience, staff discipline, food quality, hygiene, and efficient coordination among front-of-house and kitchen teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate both front-of-house and kitchen teams to ensure smooth shift operations.

• Maintain consistent standards of service, food quality, cleanliness, and hygiene throughout the shift

• Respond to guest feedback, concerns, and special requests in a timely, professional, and solution-oriented manner

• Manage essential daily operations, including cash handling, operating the POS system, and maintaining accurate staff schedules

• Monitor inventory levels and support ordering and stock control to avoid shortages or overstocking

• Carry out opening and closing procedures thoroughly and in compliance with operational standards

• Stay informed about updates to menus, recipes, and operational procedures, and ensure all team members are aligned with any changes

• Work closely with the team to achieve assigned sales targets, using upselling techniques, team motivation, and excellent service to drive results

• Step in to cover front-of-house or kitchen roles as needed, especially during peak hours or staff shortages

• Conduct daily stand-up meetings to communicate shift goals, special instructions, and operational updates to the team

• Oversee petty cash usage, maintain proper expense records, and ensure responsible financial handling of minor purchases
