Role Description

The insurance officer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Kathmandu. The insurance officer will handle insurance-related processes for vehicle sales, including policy issuance, renewals, endorsements, and claims coordination with insurance partners. Daily responsibilities include verifying customer and vehicle documents, preparing insurance quotations, explaining coverage options to customers, and ensuring timely completion of policy documentation. The role involves close collaboration with the sales and finance teams to optimize insurance offerings, maintain accurate records, and support compliance with company and regulatory standards. The insurance officer will also provide customer service support, respond to insurance inquiries, and help improve insurance processes and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Process and administer insurance policies, renewals, and endorsements for hire-purchase financed assets in a timely manner.

Liaise with insurance companies, brokers, and clients to resolve queries related to coverage, premiums, and claims.

Assess and follow up on insurance claims, ensuring accurate documentation and timely settlement.

Maintain up-to-date records of insured assets, policy expiry dates, and renewal schedules.

Ensure all insurance transactions comply with company policy and regulatory requirements set by the concerned regulatory authority.

Coordinate with the finance and recovery departments on matters concerning insured collateral.

Identify discrepancies, delays, or irregularities in coverage and report them to the concerned authority.

Prepare periodic reports on policy status, claims, and renewals for management review.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in management, finance, insurance, or a related field from a recognized university.

Minimum two years of work experience in an insurance company, bank, or financial institution, preferably in a similar capacity.

Sound knowledge of insurance principles, products, and regulatory provisions applicable in Nepal.

Good command of MS Office and relevant accounting or insurance software.

Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines under minimal supervision.
