Key Responsibilities

Risk Policy & Monitoring

• Implement and review the company's risk management policy, including margin limits, maintenance margin thresholds and escalation rules, in line with SEBON and NEPSE regulations.
• Review daily risk reports covering client debits, margin positions, collateral value and debit ageing.
• Approve client risk grading and oversee valuation of pledged and unpledged collateral.
• Decide on margin calls, forced sell-downs and other risk actions for high-exposure accounts.

Recovery Management

• Set recovery targets for each officer and allocate client accounts across the recovery team.
• Approve account closures, payment commitment renegotiations and group recovery arrangements.
• Personally handle escalated high-value and sensitive client cases, including legal and cheque-dishonour matters.
• Reconcile recovery figures with the Finance department and ensure only verified receipts are reported as recovered.

Team Leadership

• Lead, train and supervise a team of Risk & Recovery Associates across normal and margin desks.
• Monitor team performance against KPIs, conduct regular reviews and support staff development.
• Enforce maker-checker controls so that no staff member approves their own actions.

Reporting & Compliance

• Prepare monthly MIS and risk reports for management and the Board, covering exposure, recovery, ageing and provisioning.
• Ensure compliance with SEBON directives, NEPSE rules and internal audit requirements for the recovery function.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors and respond to regulatory queries.
• Recommend improvements to risk policies, recovery processes and the recovery management system.
