Rapid Needs Assessment of Maternal and Newborn Care in 15 Secondary Hospitals in Madhesh Province

ADRA Nepal, in partnership with UNICEF, invites qualified consultants or consultancy firms to conduct a rapid needs assessment in 15 secondary hospitals in Madhesh Province. The purpose of this consultancy is to assess facility readiness, service availability, staffing, equipment and systems for Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care (EmONC) and Sick Newborn Care Units (SNCU) and to identify gaps in maternal and newborn care by hospital and district. The findings will guide facility-specific quality improvement plans, training and mentoring priorities and the selection of model SNCU/Kangaroo Mother Care demonstration sites.

Duration: 20 working days and a two-day validation workshop. The final timeline will be agreed during contract negotiation.

Location: Madhesh Province, with field visits to 15 secondary hospitals across Saptari, Siraha, Dhanusha, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Rautahat, Bara, and Parsa districts.
