Seventeen Nepalis in various jails in Qatar have received amnesty.
Due to the outbreak of the corona virus, the King of Qatar has decided to grant amnesty to some prisoners in view of their health and human condition.
According to the same decision, 17 Nepalis have also received amnesty, according to the Nepali Embassy in Doha.
According to the embassy, 17 Nepali nationals detained in Qatar will now be released.
Among those released are 13 who are serving sentences for drug trafficking, 2 for theft, 1 for drug dealing and another for fraud.
According to Johns Hopkins University, the number of people infected with corona in Qatar has reached 7,764.
The total number of infected people has reached 7,764 after an additional 623 people were found infected with the corona virus on Thursday.
At least 10 people have died in Qatar due to corona infection.
