Detailed Job Description / Requirements:

▶Introduction

AMDA-MINDS is a Japanese non-governmental, non-political and non-profit making organization which has been working in Nepal since 2008. Having its vision of “Family’s Today’s life and Tomorrow’s hope”, AMDA-MINDS has been addressing improvement of quality of life among people in socioeconomic vulnerability through enhancement of practical skills and intellectual knowledge in such specialized fields as maternal and child health, income generation, education, and rehabilitation after the earthquake. It is fundamental policy of AMDA-MINDS that local initiative and process for making decision should be respected.

The organization wishes to recruit a full-time Project Officer to join its team and oversee a maternal and child health project in Dang district that is newly launched.

▶Key responsibilities

1/ Liaison with Project Implementing Partners and Government Agencies

  • Manage communications with project implementing partners for the implementation of activities (i.e. trainings, events, meetings and surveys etc.).
  • Coordinate and build a good rapport with government agencies and other stakeholders.
  • Liaises with other I/NGOs and other development partners for information sharing to improve overall project performance.
  • Arrange and organize the project related meetings with stakeholders as needed.

2/ Supervision, monitoring and reporting

  • Provide technical support for effective planning and implementation of the project.
  • Supervise and monitor daily activities, ensuring that they are carried out effectively and efficiently in line with the project objectives, timeframe and budget. Take corrective actions as needed to reflect changes in the project plan.
  • Facilitate the preparation of accurate and timely reports of the project progress both internally and externally.

▶Requirements

  • Master’s degree preferably in Public Health or related area
  • At least 5 years of working experience in relevant fields
  • Professional experience in managing, team-leading, coordinating and monitoring the projects of I/NGOs or other development partners in Nepal
  • Excellent analytical and conceptual skills with the ability to think and plan strategically
  • Strong and effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic skills to develop a budget and oversee its execution status
  • Microsoft computing skills (word, excel, power point)
  • Fluency in both written and spoken Nepali and English
