Qualifications and experience required
The successful candidate will fulfill the following criteria:
Qualifications:
- A postgraduate degree in a relevant field (e.g. research, sociology, international development etc.)
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in research using both qualitative and quantitative research methods
Experience:
- Good understanding of Human Rights Based Approaches to development
- Strong analytical skills and ability to conduct social research
- Experience developing research and facilitating interviews and focus groups
- Precision in analysing a range of data
- Excellent written communication; clear and concise, and great visual representation of data
- Experience working in, and knowledge of, the context in Nepal
- Organised and good attention to detail
- Fluency in written and spoken English
Other:
- Commitment on a full time basis for four months
- Willing to travel in-country based on the needs of the study
- Compassionate and sensitive to the nature of targeted communities
- Willing to work within The Salvation Mission’s Christian Ethos

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an online interview. During the interview, applicants will be asked to do a presentation that should answer the following questions:
- How the applicant(s) will approach the assignment
- Methodology to be used during the assignment
- Expected timeline
- Requirement for outsourced personnel/ skills above that of the applicants
It is expected that applicant(s) hold the skills and experience required to meet all stated objectives. Where there is a need to outsource personnel, this will be the sole responsibility of the applicant and must be factored into any application prior to submission. The selected applicant (s) will be required to uphold The Salvation Mission policies, procedures and safeguarding standards.
