Knowledge Requirement:
> At least 2 to 5 years of professional experience in financial services, with in-depth and hands on exposure to life insurance business is preferred
> Working experience in the risk management field, e.g., risk assessment, scenario analysis, incident management, risk monitoring, and risk reporting
> A broad understanding of life insurance business in the areas of: financial and operational risk management, ALM, actuarial, underwriting and pricing, treasury and liquidity, internal control and compliance, economic capital and quantitative modeling, etc. would be a plus
> Fluency in speaking and writing, with ability to make a professional presentation is required
> Possess a master’s degree in Management Studies and/or attainment of other professional designation such as CA/ACCA or Professional certifications in the risk management, auditing or actuarial would be a preferred

Job Description
Title/ Grade: Senior Officer/Assistant Manager -Risk Management Nepal / GG09/10
Department: Risk Management
Reports to: Direct – Head of Risk Management, Nepal Matrix – Chief Risk Officer, Asia ex Japan
The position is responsible for operationalizing all aspects of the risk management in MetLife Nepal operation. The person will work closely with Head of Risk Management to implement the Enterprise Risk Management Framework and global/local policies, including supporting Risk Management related activities within the organization, which includes challenging and advising businesses of their responses to mitigate cross-functional and company-wide operational risk, analyzing and reporting risk profile to management and committees, executing and reviewing company-wide risk assessment programs, improving risk framework and processes, and enhancing company-wide risk culture and mindset.
Principal Accountability of Position:
> Support Head of Risk Management and CRO-Asia ex Japan to ensure global and local risk policies/framework and operating models are appropriately localized and implemented. It includes appropriate risk limit setting and institutionalizing Risk Appetite Statement for the Country
> Develop and maintain country risk reporting / dashboard; timely communication / escalation of risk events, issues, and compliance with risk policies and limits to key stakeholders in the country and in the region
> Work closely with Investment, Actuarial, Finance, and Product team to manage financial risks that cover: credit, interest rate, equity, liquidity, insurance and product risks
> Managing Key Risk Indicator (KRI) monitoring program and lifecycle of company-wide Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), which includes the review and analysis of assessment results, and implementation of process on global system
Challenging and advising businesses’ risk mitigating responses to ensure actions are thorough and fixes real issues / root causes across the organization
> Maintaining, enhancing loss event data collection process and database; Analyzing internal and external loss event data with the objective to present / provide trend value-add analysis of losses from operational incidents within the organization
> Arranging and providing training and awareness programs to enhance employees’ risk culture and mindset
> Preparing and reporting in risk management committees and Support Risk Management Committee in carrying out its responsibilities
> Implementing non-financial risk initiatives locally by working with business and control function partners
> Assist in implementing Economic Capital (EC), Liquidity stress testing and Assets Liability Mismatch (ALM) project for the Country as relevant
> Partner with the Business to ensure that the Business Operation meets all applicable regulatory & Company requirements in relation to effective risk governance and management
> Partner with Audit, Compliance, IT Risk, Operations and business unit control agenda owners to coordinate testing and self-assessment activities
