Detailed Job Description / Requirements
in 1996 by a team of professional development workers, who for many years had been involved in Rural Development Programs. The organization has since then successfully implemented various projects in the sectors of sustainable agriculture and food security, natural resource management, climate change, community empowerment, social mobilization, lobby and advocacy, civic education, disaster response and reconstruction and infrastructure (water, sanitation, roads and bridges) development. At present, the organization is implementing several projects in a total of 21 districts of Nepal.
SAHAS Nepal is looking for potential candidates for the following positions in “Biodiversity and Resource Management for Sustainable Food Security in Mountain Community Nepal” Project in Dailekh district. The project aims to enhance the food production and livelihood status of the target communities for strengthening food security situation.
1. Position: Project Officer
Duty station: Dailekh
Required number-1
Main responsibilities:
- Managing for implementation of planned activities with set standards and timeframe
- Effective planning, delivery, and follow up of different project activities
- Managing for an effective community mobilization and utilization of local resources
- Forge good relationship with concerned local and district level line agencies and establish community linkage with related line agencies for accessing resources.
- Carrying out staff supervision, coaching and team building other performance development as well as team building activities
- Provide technical backstopping in project
- Producing quality progress report both Nepali and English
Academic qualification and experiences:
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture sciences or development studies with at least one year experience in relevant field
- Good skills on training delivery, monitoring and evaluation, and coordination with stakeholders
- Good communication and analytical skills
- Knowledge on financial management and staff supervision and development
- Good coordination, communication with community and local government sectors
- Fluent in Nepali and English language
- Good coordination skills and efficient team player
2. Position: Admin and Finance Assistant
Duty station: Dailekh
Required number-1
Main responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain financial accounts and records daily as per the policies of the organization as a focal person at project site
- Prepare monthly financial report of the project and maintain project related all documents including financial and personnel
- Conduct basic book keeping training and follow-up to Community based organizations (CBNOs) groups
- Keep records provident fund, gratuity, tax and other salary related information of the respective project
Academic qualification and experiences:
- Intermediate or 10+2 in Business Management or equivalent degree from recognized university
- At least 1 year of working experience in related field
- Computer skills –words, excel, power point, skill in Account Software.
- Motivation & leadership skill with clear communicator
- Effective team player and can thrive under pressure
- Fluent in Nepali and English language
- Efficient team player
3. Position: Infrastructure Technician
Duty station: Dailekh
Required number-1
Main responsibilities:
- To use survey equipments, Oversee and maintain works at project site
- Maintain the measurement records of scheme details of qualities and quantities of the materials
- Planning, execution, follow up and monitoring of the project activities especially in infrastructure development
- Coordination and communication with local level agencies and stakeholders
Academic qualification and experiences:
- Sub-Overseer/Infrastructure Technician
- Computer skills in Data-base package with AUTO –CAD sound knowledge
- At least 1 year working experiences with designing, estimate and constructive management specially in rural setting
- Knowledge of maintaining and implementing construction & re-construction of relevant project’s activities
- Efficient team player
4. Position: Assistant Gender Officer
Duty station: Dailekh
Required number-1
Main responsibilities:
- To develop of Gender related training materials
- To conduct trainings and liaison, coordination, communication with various working local sectors
- Planning program activities and reporting in related field
- Advocacy and Lobby, facilitators, human rights and social mobilize in project sites
Academic qualification and experiences:
- Bachelors degree or/Intermediate level in Gender Study/Humanities & Social Science/Sociology or equivalent
- 2 years working experiences in Gender or social development sector
- Committed and interested to work in remote community areas
- Ability to work independently and able to travel in remote areas of the project site
- Skills with local languages and computer skills
5. Position: Driver
Duty station: Kathmandu (50% project site)
Required number-1
Main responsibilities:
- To handle and manage general maintains of the vehicles
- Record/maintain a log-book
- Assist to purchase of various materials, equipments as required by project/programs
- To assist in general administrative tasks of indoor/outdoor like;
Academic qualification and experiences:
- SLC passed or 10+2 with valid driving license
- At least 3 years working experience in related field
- -Driving working experiences with rural areas
- knowledge of traffic rules & regulation
- Basic skills in repair and maintenances of the vehicles
- Skills in communication, public relations and related fields
