Welcome To My Yard has an exciting post available based in our Kathmandu, Nepal office.
We are seeking a Programmes Manager who will be responsible for our local office, team and programmes with the street children, young people and young families that we support at our community Centre. We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative, resourceful and flexible person to join our committed international team of staff and volunteers to help us build on our current achievements and to take Welcome To My Yard Nepal forward in the coming years.
About us
Welcome To My Yard (WTMY) is an innovative social enterprise partnering with street based Nepali children, young people and families and those at risk to provide holistic community based support, education, training, and income generation programmes. WTMY began its work in 2005, opened its first community Centre in Kathmandu in 2011 and has now supported well over 500 children and families through its programs. WTMY is also registered in the UK and Australia and the role will be working closely with both teams
About You
You will have relevant tertiary qualification in undergraduate/graduate professional degree in Education, social work, psychology or similar and have had direct experience of supporting vulnerable children, young people or families in a community context. You will have had some people and project management experience and excellent people and project management capabilities. You will be able to work in demanding environments, be able to make decisions in complex situations and be able to advise support workers on social work issues. You will also need fluency in spoken and written English and Nepali. This position would suit a person looking to join an organization over the longer term and grow their breadth of skills and responsibilities within a small but expanding organization.
