Government of Nepal’s decision to open banks, insurance, cooperatives and securities

Kathmandu. The Government of Nepal has decided to allow the financial sector banks, insurance companies, cooperatives and securities to open public service offices while maintaining the ongoing lockdown.

Announcing the decision of today’s cabinet meeting, Finance Minister Dr. Yuvaraj Khatiwada informed that it has been decided to allow the operation of the office by keeping one third of the employees in the office providing public services related to banks, insurance companies, cooperatives and securities. For the operation of these offices, one third of the vehicles will be provided by the concerned ministry.

With the government’s decision, all banks, insurance companies, cooperatives and securities offices across the country will be open from Friday. These offices will be operated with minimum staff. It is estimated that all the public service offices will be operational from Sunday in case of not being able to get the pass on Friday as it is a public holiday tomorrow.
